LV users are now getting a brand new Workflow Manager (rollout may take a while but started in early November 2011). Its first module is Document Management, but more modules are expected later.
Because the user interface is so very different (more akin to the modern look of EMIS Web), we have produced a video showing you how to use it.
You can access the video via the TV link in LV itself, but it is hosted on YouTube on our EMISLearning Channel. You can subscribe to our channel and get an email whenever we upload a new video. Click here to go to our channel.
We have also embedded it into a page on this website. Click here to go to the LV Document Manager page.
Migrant Health Guide is a free online resource that the Health Protection Agency has launched for use in primary care. It contains specific information about health risks relating to the countries of origin of patients, and correlates this with UK guidance.
Check it out at www.hpa.org.uk/migranthealthguide.
EMIS has been named 'healthcare technology group of the year' at the HealthInvestor Awards 2011.
The awards promote excellence and recognise innovation in the healthcare sector. EMIS was rewarded for its innovative approach to interoperability and improving patient care communications between GPs and the wider healthcare community.
Sean Riddell, EMIS Group Chief Executive Officer, said: "Developing technology that helps clinicians to drive up standards of patient care and deliver it more efficiently is central to our ethos and we are delighted to receive industry backing and support through this award."
The launch of EMIS Web and the creation of Healthcare Gateway were central to EMIS's award success.
Judges noted evidence of EMIS Web's already impressive record in enabling 'joined up' care, including NHS Tower Hamlets' primary care psychology team cutting report production time by up to 38 hours a week and Liverpool PCT delivering its joint injections service at a tenth of the cost of providing it in hospital.
Judges were also impressed by how EMIS has taken this concept to the next level through forming a joint venture company with INPS (Healthcare Gateway) to create the Medical Interoperability Gateway (MIG). The MIG enables secure data exchange between third party extended and secondary care systems and GP practices using EMIS or INPS systems - together accounting for around 75 per cent of all GP practices and approximately 46 million electronic patient health records.
There are now seven EMIS Web videos available within the Common Room. The two latest are a short introduction to the customisable homepage and a 45 minute explanation of RBAC and how to manage your roles during the Familiarisation Service.
Just login to the EMIS-online Common Room and go to Library > EMIS Web Videos from the menu. PCS users can go straight to the common room by choosing Help > EMIS Online Client Zone from the Menu. LV users find their password through EU, EO and then going to EMIS Online and selecting Common Room from the menu.
