To make your practice website available to you from within PCS, click File on the menu bar and then select Edit Home Page Location. Type the URL of your website home page in the Address field.
You can make the Organiser your EMIS home page. Click File and Edit home page location then select the organiser radio button at the bottom of the window. Click OK. Organiser will be your home page next time you log in.
To edit the default duration of a particular appointment reason, click Appointment Configuration, then click Appointment Reasons. Now, select the required appointnment reason and click Edit.
You can display a message which will appear in red on the right of the green bar. For example, you might want a reminder of who is duty doctor.
To move a patient from one appointment to another on the same date, press and hold the SHIFT key and drag the patient from the existing appointment to the new one.
Hold down the Ctrl key on the keyboard when in CM and this will put a number on each of the four tabs on the right hand side. You can then use the associated numbers on the keyboard to move between tabs.
To record a consultation and then save as a preset, click Presets or press K.
Hint: When manually consolidating duplicate records, save any consultations as presets and run them against the patient you wish to keep before archiving the duplicate.
To create a quick picking list of location types, click the down arrow on the green bar in Consultations and select Configure.
To associate attachments, values, referrals etc with an individual problem, click Problems or press P from Medical Record - Problem Management, select a problem, click Organise or press P, and then select Event Link editor. You can then add and delete links to thje selected problem.
This is a good way to find data attached to Read codes.
From within Medical Records, select the view/find option and then select 9 - the free text option.
For example, entering "ast" will find any word entered with 'ast' at the beginning, the end or in the middle.
To search for individual codes or free text in a medical record, click View/Find or press W, and then select 9 - Find Code/Term/Text.
To configure a deparate preferred list of templates for each screen within Medical Record, ensure that you select the relevant module in the template configuration - click Templates or press T, then select Configuration.
To view your QOF Alerts at any time for the selected patient, press Ctrl + F5. Press Enter to clear this information from your screen.
When configuring the patient précis, press CTRL + ENTER to insert a line break.
Map duplicate addresses to ensure that the Household key works accurately.
If you have a large number of amendments in your GP Links inbox, all of which require you to remove 'County' from patient address, you can delete the town and county automatch in Registrations so it stops happening.
