What is Online Learning

Online learning utilises internet technology to put the training session right on your computer screen.

Our online learning takes two main forms:

  • Webcasts which are free. These are seminar-like presentations and demonstrations. You can use a phone, PC speakers or a PC headset. Using a speakerphone or speakers gives you the option of including colleagues in the process without having to register separate users. Normally, your phone is muted during the main presentation so you can hear everything that is said.
  • Online learning sessions which are charged and involve interaction between you and the trainer (which may involve you taking control of the module or application you are learning about). You use a phone or a PC headset if it has a microphone.

All you need:

  • Use any PC or laptop with a good internet connection (e.g. broadband or N3).
  • Use a telephone or PC headset with muicrophone to hear what is said and contribute questions and observations. Use a speakerphone or PC speakers for webcasts to include colleagues.
